Our Montana Twin Decks are designed and individually custom built to fit the majority of European chassis ranging from 7.5 tonnes upwards. Our MTD350 is suitable for most European chassis. Our MTD350L is designed specifically for the Izusu chassis. Our MTD400 is only suitable for 10T GVW and over and has everything you need.

They are designed to provide a high quality, easy to use, safe and reliable means of transporting two cars. We have taken great care to put strength into the design in the areas of the product that need it. And our build quality and attention to detail is second to none.

They give you the maximum legal payload without compromising on safety.

Our Montana Twin Decks are in use with many of the major accident repair centres and car dealers.

Key Design Specifications

 

  • Design capacity of lower platform 2.5 tonnes.
  • Body c.6.1m (20′) long, 2.32m (7′ 7″) overall width, manufactured from steel box section with 3 mm aluminium punched plate open floor, side raves and securing shackles. 
  • Aluminium loading ramps, stored in tracks either side of body, manually extended, 1000 kg SWL each. Secured to reduce “rattling”.
  • Overhead Car Carrier, c. 4m long with fixed front pivot. Twin ramp design with open centre, manufactured from steel box section with 3 mm aluminium chequer plate floor with pair of galvanised wheel chocks. Raised and lowered by hydraulic rams with multi position safety supports. 1.5 tonne design capacity.
  • Removable Guard Rail fitted to O/S of Overhead Car Carrier.
  • Overhead Car Carrier forward buffer.
  • Galvanised Lower Platform and Overhead Car Carrier.
  • BHW Delta Electric Winch, 2250kg line pull, with cable remote control, including roller fairlead and 23m of wire cable, including pulley to allow winching onto top deck.
  • Electro Hydraulically Operated with Push Button Controls to raise and lower Overhead Car Carrier and Emergency Stop Button.
  • Toolbox, chassis mounted, manufactured from heavy duty polyethylene with lock and weatherproof door seal.
  • Eight “Wheel Secure – Anti Slip” vehicle securing straps.
  • Outline marker lamps, LED.
  • Full polyethylene mudguards.
  • Side guards

  • Stainless steel cladding to sides of lower platform with full length fluorescent blue decals.
  • Tow bracket fixed, fitted to rear panel with 50 mm ball hitch.
  • Tow bracket adjustable, fitted to rear panel with 50 mm ball hitch.
  • Aluminium capping fitted to upper and lower deck side raves.
  • Road cones x 4 mounted on galvanised storage bracket n/s of overhead carrier.

 

Electrics – MTD350

  • Seven pin socket, same voltage as vehicle.
  • Voltage dropper for 12v on seven pin socket.
  • Bar Light 400mm (16”) with Two Rotators fitted to Cab Roof.
  • Bar light 5′ long with 4 modules and Rear Running Lights fitted to cab roof.
  • Bar Light 5′ long with 4 modules fitted to “H” frame, mounted to lower deck headboard frame.
  • Working lights (pair), fitted nearside and offside at front of lower platform, to illuminate top and bottom decks
  • 12 & 24 v Jump leads (5m long) with heavy duty clamps and sockets fitted to front or rear of vehicle.
  • Jump lead charging socket in toolbox, 12v, for customer’s jump pack.
  • Radio remote control for winch.

  • Lower Platform c. 5.84m (19′ 2″) long (5.33m (17′ 6″) working length), 2.34m (7′ 8″) overall width with twin ramp design with open centre, punched aluminium floor and securing shackles. 2350kg tonnes design capacity
  • Overhead Car Carrier, c. 3.96m (13′) working length with fixed front pivot. Twin ramp design with open centre, with punched aluminium floor and a pair of galvanised wheel chocks. Raised and lowered by hydraulic rams with multi position safety supports. 1.5 tonne design capacity
  • Lightweight Steel Loading Ramps, galvanised with aluminium cheuer plate tops, hinged and double length for better loading angle, stored in tracks either side of body, manually extended, 1000 kg SWL each. Firmly secured so won’t rattle loudly when travelling
  • Maximum design capacity when carrying load straddling Lower Platform and lowered Overhead Car Carrier 2850kg.

MTD400 – For +10T Chassis

MTD400 (+10T GVW)

Key Design Specifications

 

  • Design capacity of lower platform 4 tonnes.
  • Lower Platform c. 6.1m long by c. 2.5m wide, twin ramp design with double angle on body for minimum loading angle. Manufactured from steel box sections which are then galvanised. 3 mm steel chequer plate floor, steel side raves and ten securing shackles. Crash barrier with rubber buffers to protect winch.
  • Steel loading ramps with hinged flip over steel extension ramps to provide best possible loading angle, with galvanised steel support legs and hinges, stored in tracks either side of body, manually extended using handles. Ramps run on nylon rollers with automatic stops and are secured to reduce “rattling”.
  • 4 degree (approx.) aluminium extension ramps, for cars with very low spoilers, with storage location on chassis when not required.
  • Design capacity of overhead car carrier 1.6 tonnes
  • Overhead car carrier, c. 4.5m long by c. 2.34m with fixed front pivot. Full width, manufactured from steel box sections which are then galvanised. Full width 3 mm aluminium chequer plate floor with pair of multi position galvanised wheel chocks and ten securing shackles. Raised and lowered by two hydraulic rams with multi position galvanised safety supports. Galvanised Crash Barrier with rubber buffers.
  • Guard rail fitted to O/S of overhead car carrier.
  • Anti slip / skid coating to loading ramps and floors of lower platform and Overhead Car Carrier (Anti slip TRRL test value of 70+)
  • Anti slip tape applied to side raves top edges on both floors.
  • Aluminium under run side guards fitted to O/S & N/S of chassis.
  • BHW Delta Electric Winch, 2250kg line pull, with load limiting device and overload warning light, cable remote control on a long lead. Roller fairlead and synthetic rope, including a pulley to allow winching onto top deck. Overload warning light fitted to winch.
  • Electro hydraulically operated with push button controls and emergency stop button / isolator switch mounted N/S to raise and lower overhead car carrier.
  • Toolbox, chassis mounted, manufactured from heavy duty polyethylene with lock and weatherproof door seal. Fitted to chassis with steel galvanised support structure.
  • Damage free winch rope extension.
  • LED clear bar light 1.4m (4′ 8″) fitted to cab roof, including rear running lights. Running Lights are clipped on to maintain waterproof integrity to R65. The light bar has 10 LED strips to the front (each strip has 8 LED lights),10 to the rear and 2 each side.
  • LED work lights, two for lower platform and two for overhead car carrier
  • LED high intensity strobe lights, two off, fitted to rear of lower platform and two fitted underneath overhead car carrier.
  • LED toolbox light.
  • LED outline marker lamps with reflectors.
  • Full polyethylene mudguards with mudguards.
  • Slide out steps, two off, fitted in front of lifting rams to provide access N/S and O/S.
  • Eight “wheel secure – anti slip” vehicle securing straps.
  • High conspicuity reflective markings down cab and body sides as required for IVA type approval.
  • Road cones, four off, mounted on galvanised storage bracket on N/S of overhead car carrier.
  • Fire extinguisher, 2.5kg dry powder, mounted in weather proof box on exterior of vehicle
  • Side guards.
