Truk's founders, who were the founders of Brimec, designed and manufactured the first Slideback ever made in the UK in 1964. The first Slideback was made for a company called Turpin Plant Hire, a company based in the midlands.

From 1964 until the early 70's Brimec were the only company in the UK manufacturing Slidebacks. Brimec Slidebacks were mainly bought by the Plant Hire and Construction Industries with the remainder being bought by agricultural dealers and local authorities. These Slidebacks had payloads ranging from seven to fifteen tonnes.

In the early 70's the decision was made to make a smaller version for the emerging car recovery industry and the first four tonne version (with a very long automatic tailboard) was made for a London company. A couple of years later Brimec began making spectacle lifts.

For over 40 years the people at Truk have designed, manufactured and sold, thousands of recovery vehicle all over the world and have many very happy customers.

Truk's latest range of Slidebacks, the 'California', are the best selling Slidebacks in the UK and are sold in kit form all over the world.

Our 'Arizona' Spectacle Lifts are available fully installed or in kit form.

'Montana' Twin Decks are very popular with car dealers and the accident repair centres.

'Colorado' Heavy Underlifts are available to recover the heaviest trucks.
